Project overview

Södra, the Swedish forest-owner cooperative, selected Ledinek to supply the production line for its expanded cross-laminated timber facility at Värö — from intake through pressing. It is the second CLT line Ledinek has delivered to Södra on the same site, and the layout was planned around what the first line taught both companies. The plant runs spruce CLT at roughly 100,000 cubic metres of capacity.

Capacity
~100,000 m³ of spruce CLT
Scope
Production line from intake to pressing
Key equipment
Z-PRESS hot-melt edge gluing, X-Lam Manager control
Vendor
Ledinek Engineering

A second line, designed against the first

Södra had already run a Ledinek-supplied CLT line at Värö before ordering the expansion. That operating history fed directly into the procurement: layout, material flow and equipment selection were specified against what the existing line had shown in production rather than against a catalog.

Edge gluing sets the pace of the line

The line uses hot-melt edge gluing on a Z-PRESS for fast assembly bonding of laminations. Edge gluing throughput is what governs how quickly panels can be laid up, so it is the machine the rest of the layout is sequenced around.

One control layer over the whole line

The complete line runs under Ledinek's X-Lam Manager. A single control layer across intake, layup and pressing is what makes a plant of this size operable by fourteen operators per shift.
